Overseas Development

SOS Malta's Overseas Development Programme is a fundamental pillar of its mission to promote human dignity, social justice and solidarity beyond national borders. Through this programme, SOS Malta seeks to engage in sustainable development cooperation, providing both humanitarian aid and long-term capacity-building support to vulnerable communities in developing countries.

The organisation focuses on participatory approaches, empowering local populations and institutions to take an active role in identifying their needs and shaping their future. Whether addressing food insecurity in Ethiopia, improving access to education in Uganda, or supporting refugees in Lebanon, SOS Malta works hand in hand with local partners to ensure culturally sensitive and effective interventions.

These projects are made possible thanks to collaborations with government bodies, international networks, NGOs, and volunteers. SOS Malta ensures transparency and accountability throughout each project, aligning its activities with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations.
